Is South Africa finally turning the economic corner?

The latest data shows inflation is cooling, dropping to 3.5%. While we’re seeing price drops in tech like tablets and cellphones, essentials like electricity, water, and meat continue to squeeze our wallets. Have you noticed a change in your shopping totals?

How would you describe your current confidence in the SA economy?

  • :chart_increasing: Optimistic – I can see and feel the improvements.
  • :balance_scale: Cautiously hopeful – Signs are good, but I’m waiting for more.
  • :chart_decreasing: Sceptical – My daily expenses don’t reflect these “cooling” numbers.
  • :stop_sign: Concerned – The structural issues are still too deep.

No accountability being seen by government ministers and political positions of power that abuse their powers.

I am hopeful because I’d like to believe that finding other major trading partners (other than the US) will turn up more opportunities than there were before. Besides China, I am thinking several countries in South and South-East Asia, and elsewhere. Maybe the esteemed @SharpSchutters has some deeper insights into this. Shopping around for better deals is always a good idea.
