What Homer’s ‘Odyssey’ Tells Us About the Economics of the Bronze Age

This is indeed an interesting perspective. With much (most?) of the world’s wealth swirling in institutionalised casinos (derivatives, etc), it makes me wonder if politics and economics should not be understood as a political economy again. While this is pursued by some academic institutions, economics is still perched on foundational legs of mathematics, and the rationality of actors. Political science recognises individuals as group-oriented actors driven by power, ideology, and identity.
But consider that we’ve hacked at these issue for a mere 33 centuries. We might need a few more before we get it right.
