This is not a case of journalists playing victim - rather the Pentagon being petrified of being a victim of overreach for the upteenth time.
Taking such as stance at the White House would compel the tangerine-in-chief to open the doors to all journalists. I do not believe Trump can survive an attention-depleted atmosphere for more than a day or so. The curated chorus of reporters at the White House is not doing journalism any favours. Being a White House reporter is not a flex any longer.
