President Ramaphosa has just hosted the world at the G20, but now he faces his critics at home. With the ANC National General Council (NGC) underway and rumours of a removal plot swirling, is it time for a new leader, or does South Africa need stability above all else? @Ferial sets the scene:
The NGC is taking place amidst speculation of a push by disgruntled factions (allegedly led by demoted ministers) to unseat Ramaphosa.
What is the best outcome for South Africa right now?
Stability: Ramaphosa must finish his term to protect the GNU and economy.
Renewal: The ANC needs fresh leadership to survive; he should go.
Indifferent: It doesn’t matter who leads the ANC; the issues are systemic.

By all accounts he will leave. I hope it is on his own terms in February. President Gwede Mantashe - time to start practising
