I have always been a huge fan of Kurzgesagt’s hard science-meets-cute-animation style of videos and in this vulnerable video they talk at length about how “confidently incorrect” LLM assertions are finding their way into research papers and default searches, and thus poisonng the well of the fount of human knowledge the internet is purported to be.
They do not decry AI wholesale, and propose responsible ways of utilising it to achieve resuts within workspaces and to correlate verifiable facts.

I remember a time - it could only have been months prior - when it took some blood, sweat, and tears to become a trusted content creator with reliable material on YouTube. Suddenly, anyone is a content creator, but fail the definition, because AI is the content creator.

IBM & Microsoft have done the research: no critical thinking when posing questions = GIGO, ditto for those interpreting the output = GIGO.

I do remain hopeful and believe i see a sea change in audience perception that substanceless novelty AI content will grow tiresome very quicly and that we will be challenged to define what makes contributiopns “human”.
