OpenAI Is Preparing to Launch a Social App for AI-Generated Videos

Hmmm OpenAI is looking to launch a Tiktok-alike exclusive focused on AI-generated video.

I might be in an echo-chamber but i am seeing a pronounced backlash against genAI content (for me personally it’s more because it’s done badly or exposes creative bankruptcy) wherever i go.

So i am wondering how this will pan out for them? In the meantime Ed Zitron has been keeping tabs on the herculean recouping on investment OpenAI are setting themselves up for.

What is the CTA with this, though? “Authenticity” on social media has always been a driving force to how people relate to content (even if the content itself is anything but.) What will draw people in if from the beginning we know there’s a lack of real substance?

I really wish i knew but the only answer that comes up is that they honestly believe we are post-substance. My experiences beg to differ however.
