El is a Afrikaner. Proud of what South Africa has become. I now live in Monmouth, Wales. It was a thriving town. Our town has been destroyed by storm Claudia. And I do mean destroyed to a large extent. However, the community has gathered and are helping people every day and night to get those who are vulnerable to safe places. But everyone affected by the flooding are vulnerable. Their homes have been destroyed. But communities step in when needs must. And by God they have. We never thought this could ever happen to us. Climate change is and will destroy us all if we don’t start thinking and doing. We were a town regarded as surrounded by outstanding natural beauty I feel so sad that Cop 30 is a disappointment
