Thanks for your feedback, I appreciate it. DMC was designed as a space where Daily Maverick readers can meaningfully connect with each other and with our journalists. As the community grows, I hope we have more than the 6 to 10 people, and have a larger cohort of people who are ready to engage.

Thanks for the feedback, Allen. This is interesting. We intentionally did not introduce an algorithm to DMC for the same reason, we don’t want you glued to your phone either. If you do ever want to engage with fellow Daily Maverick readers, you are always welcome.

Hi Donnet, thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts and feedback.

We chose to build our own platform for various reasons: We wanted to get away from time-sucking algorithms, and we wanted to have one sign-up, so you could have one DM account and not have to have a profile on a different site we don’t have admin access to. Your point about integration is well received, and I am thinking about how we can do that.

Signing in is another aspect we are working on!

Again, I appreciate your feedback: it was very helpful and it is guiding how we move forward.

Here I thought I scared people off by bringing my standard social media default energy settings to DMC… I will be back to post the behind the scenes or the “I’m not allowed to post this on the site because there are some moving parts that I still need to figure out to turn 99.9999% into 100% accuracy” analyses. Of course, when I get time. Which is in short supply. Which is why I have been absent.
