There was a fire earlier in the year affecting large parts of the CBD. The cable that burnt out ran over part of this section of motorway, between the Smit and Carr Street ramps. While repairs were underway, the left-hand lane was closed, and a security company guarded the site. Why is this section still closed to traffic many months after repairs were completed?
