Springboks game chat... the good, the bad, and the super nerdy

Do you love getting technical and emotional about the Springboks? Let us find our people here, even if your name is @craigray  … All are welcome to mouth off about why Rassie should either shift Pollard to 12 or move on without him - there are no wrong opinions, just less correct ones.

No Manie or Willie slander will be tolerated, ditto for ideas about Damian Willemse playing any other position than 15.

Fassie is the weakest link here. But that Wilco and RG bench combo is gonna give the ABs nightmares. Ruan x Lood second row partnership is also something interesting - Lood not really a recognised ball player, so just there to bring the physicality? This is the maddest stew Rassie has ever cooked up imho.

Interesting selection and I am all for experimentation at this stage of the World Cup cycle.

Really excited to see what Ethan Hooker can do. As a Sharks fan I am biased, but he has been impressive in the URC.

I can only use the “Hooker on the wing” joke once.

What’s your early morning game day routine? I feel that South African rugby fans have lost the 7am gees since we split from Super Rugby.

Boks playing sublime ball, but timing issues and little handling errors holding them back…

What a difference having ball playing backs makes… Tonyball needs ball players. Sublime Springboks performance. Wilco Louw is a national treasure - would love to see Ox and Wilco on at the same time.

Wellington form rewarded…barring injuries.

One day we will see Ox and Wilco in the same starting front row and that day will be glorious.

News of Ox Nche’s withdrawal has just reached me and I am, among other things, distraught.

Plenty p-bombs dropped in that first half, but Sacha is truly unplayable today

Argies doing a great job disrupting the Springbok flow and moving the ball from the point of contact.

Between the London/SA time difference and the clock in my wife’s car being 10min ahead, I was 100% convinced I missed a Springbok kickoff for the first time in a decade… I should extend my game day rules to include shopping mall visits :see_no_evil_monkey:

Also, is this the extended remix of the Argentina anthem?

What were the odds on Argentina winning a scrum penalty off Wilco Louw? Someone made some money I reckon.

Wilco has been, statistically, the most dominant scrummager in world rugby.

Who will win the South Africa vs France game on 8 November?

  • :south_africa: South Africa
  • :france: France

I hope nobody peaked too early today. These late kickoffs are a crime against Brandy.

Watching the earlier appetisers and I am convinced that New Zealand would’ve lost against Scotland had the ref been good. Super happy that Italy finally put Australia away quite convincingly. Now to feast on a baguette

Du Toit’s one good scrum per game came at the best time.
