Massive injury blow for Boks

As if things weren’t bad enough for the Boks after last Saturday’s chastening 38-22 loss to Australia, they’ve been decimated by injury.

Captain Siya Kolisi is out for about four weeks with a knee injury, Pieter-Steph du Toit is concussed and wings Kurt-Lee Arendse and Edwill van der Merwe are also both injured and will miss the second Test at DHL Stadium.

… and then Dricus du Plessis lost his title on Sunday too. Not a great sporting weekend for South Africa :broken_heart:

Eish. A real test for the Boks. To any readers viewing this thread, what message of support would you give the team right now? :flexed_biceps:

That’s not great news. Poor Siya!

Look out for the changed team lineup to face the Wallabies in Cape Town - landing at around 3pm.

My best educated guess.

15-Damian Willemse, 14-Canan Moodie, 13-Jesse Kriel (capt), 12-Damian de Allende, 11-Cheslin Kolbe, 10-Handre Pollard, 9-Grant Williams, 8-Cobus Wiese, 7-Ruan Nortje, 6-Marco van Staden, 5-Lood de Jager, 4-Eben Etzebeth, 3-Wilco Louw, 2-Malcolm Marx, 1-Ox Nche. 16-Marnus van der Merwe, 17-Thomas du Toit, 18-Vincent Koch, 19-RG Snyman, 20-Jean-Luc Du Preez, 21-Kwagga Smith, 22-Morne van den Berg, 23-Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu.

I was feeling so confident about our depth, but that line-up doesn’t inspire much fear.

“You know when your mom sends you a message to say she still loves you, things aren’t lekker,” Rassie Erasmus just told me. Boks have turned the page on last week.

Late change for the Boks…Willie le Roux pulls out of Cape Town showdown against Wallabies with an undisclosed ‘niggle’. Aphelele Fassi will start. No change to the bench.
Meanwhile. Those Aussies are back and good on 'em.

Joe Schmidt’s Wallabies have restored pride and earned respect
