I am Sue Larkan the owner and founder of TABANSI-OKICIYAPI (short name TABANSI).

The name TABANSI is of African origin meaning -One who endures

The name OKICIYAPI is of Native American (Dakota & Lakota tribes) meaning - Holding Hands - Helping one another.

I started as an activist 28 years ago.( based on my own struggles with admission and fees at a public school)
Our principal purpose is to educate learners parents of their rights regarding school fees - admission and other matters in State Schools. To help Parents / Caregivers involved in negotiations / discussions or litigation in schools. To promote counseling to parents regarding school fees and other matters pertaining to school issues. To uphold the rights of all children (learners) in schools throughout South Africa. To uphold the South African School Act 84 of 1996 as amended by the Education Laws Amendments Bill 2004 (SASA) to uphold the policy document of National norms and Standards for State

Schools (Notice2363 of 1998). To assist State application and motivation for partial, conditional, or full exemption based on the SASA means test. To uphold the rights and protection of children according to The Children’s Act (as amended). The Constitution of the Republic of South Africa, The UN convention on the rights of children. Not excluding any other Act or law that may protect the rights of children in all environments.
