I have recently read a book by Yuval Noah Harari called NEXUS. It takes the reader through the ages of Information Networks - no not IT but generally information forms the basis of history. We go back to Roman times and how the Roman Empire struggled in its latter years because it could not dictate to the various regions in its empire. And so on through the ages - fascinating - but the last quarter of the book is based on the impact of AI to humanity - the pros and cons. Those that have read it may be interested in discussing the merits as well as the risks of AI to us all.
Many wordlwide are starting new industries because of AI, and those that don’t’ adapt to AI or use AI to their advantage will eventually pay a dear price - e.g. KODAK and the digital camera. Software will commodotise AI - or will it? How far can or will AI go - Harari puts an interesting spin and philosophical angle to AI. What do you think?
