Has anyone else tried to catch an Uber or other ride share service from a Gautrain station operated by Metrorail? Park Station, Hatfield and Pretoria Stations are all Metrorail stations and, they are the only ones where the ride share services cannot collect passengers. I’m told by an Uber driver that they can’t even drop off passengers at Pretoria Station. From what I am told, commuters need to walk out of the safety of a station to meet a ride share service outside for fear of intimidation by the taxi operators. It’s curious that this is not happening at Gautrain stations, only the stations owned by Metrorail.

I do know Gautrain Sandton forces Uber to pickup passengers across the road, whether rain or shine, sleet or sun. It’s actively a risky venture if you’re spat out of the train at 9pm on a winter’s night.
