If you’ve ever sat curb-side at Pizza Shed on Bree Street you might have noticed the string of colourful BMWs and Mercedes that tend to double park the tiny, trendy street to a stand still. They’re not there for the pizza though - they are all visiting the Cape Care Pharmacy right next door. It’s incredible how many of the people driving these expensive cars are all ill at the same time. Especially around 8pm.
If you have no idea what I am talking about, here’s what happens:
A R3-million neon green BMW with no number plate pulls up slowly, double parks while two men touting Gucci bags and Yeezy slides get out. They usually roll in pairs. They then saunter into the Cape Care Pharmacy while their car continues to block traffic. They emerge approximately 3 minutes later with an un-branded brown paper bag, sometimes two. It’s folded closed and has a weight to it. The brown bags are identical from the outside, for all these customers. The men then get back into their car and the traffic continues to flow. That is until the next Merc stops by 5 minutes later.
So, what is this pharmacy selling? And is the colour purple involved?
